We have a wide variety of players in our orchestra: From talented student musicians who are ready for moderate orchestral literature– to community players who used to play in high school, honor groups, and college–to professional musicians and music teachers who like a place to keep their “chops” up. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a part of this vibrant, dedicated, and fun musical group!
Rehearsals
The Reno Pops Orchestra rehearses on most Wednesday nights from 7:00-10:00 pm under the baton of Jane Brown. Rehearsals are held at the North Valleys High School band room. “Open” rehearsals usually occur for the first few weeks of any set, and are open to any players who would like to dust off their instrument and come play. Open rehearsals are indicated on the Rehearsal Schedule. Please RSVP through this website so we are sure to have enough music, chairs, and stands available. “Regular” and “final” rehearsals are intended for the players actually performing in that set–though rehearsals are always open for visitors to come watch and enjoy.
