Reno Pops Orchestra Announces “A Night at the Opera” Featuring Firebird Light Opera
Reno, NV — The Reno Pops Orchestra is pleased to announce A Night at the Opera, featuring Firebird Light Opera, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Nightingale Concert Hall in the Church Fine Arts Building at the University of Nevada, Reno. Conducted by Dr. Jane K. Brown, the concert opens the orchestra’s 2026–2027 “GOT POPS!” season.
As autumn arrives in Northern Nevada, join the Reno Pops Orchestra and Firebird Light Opera for an evening of music, storytelling, and theatrical expression. From soaring melodies to dramatic orchestral works, A Night at the Opera will offer something for audiences of all ages to enjoy.
Featured Composers and Works Include:
- Andrew Lloyd Webber and Richard Rodgers — selections from their works
- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky — Polonaise from Eugene Onegin
- Gioachino Rossini — Overture to The Barber of Seville
- Francesco Sartori and Lucio Quarantotto — “Con te partirò”
- Richard Wagner — Procession to the Cathedral from Lohengrin
The Reno Pops Orchestra is a nonprofit community orchestra dedicated to enriching Northern Nevada through live music. Under the direction of Dr. Jane K. Brown, through free concerts, educational outreach, and engaging programming, the orchestra makes music accessible to audiences of all ages.
Founded in 2023, Firebird Light Opera is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to enriching the culture of northern Nevada by creating distinctive and memorable musical experiences. Led by Co-Producing Artistic Directors CJ Greer and Adam Cates, Firebird Light Opera produces classic works that connect audiences with the power of the human voice in live performance.
