The Reno Pops Orchestra was established in 1983 as a non-profit Nevada Corporation under its original name: St. John's Community Orchestra. As the organization expanded into the community, it was renamed the Sierra Community Orchestra. In 1991 the orchestra evolved into the Reno Pops.
